Credential FAQs

What is a Statement of Attainment?

A Statement of Attainment (SoA) is a nationally recognised certificate issued by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) confirming you have met the competency requirements of the unit(s) completed (e.g., HLTAID009, HLTAID011, HLTAID012).

How long is my credential valid?

Industry guidance recommends renewal intervals of 12 months for CPR (HLTAID009) and 3 years for First Aid (HLTAID011/HLTAID012). Employers and regulators may require more frequent refreshers.

Who issues my credential?

Australia Wide First Aid (RTO 31961) issues your Statement of Attainment. Credentials are nationally recognised across Australia.

How can I verify or replace my certificate?

Log in to your student portal to download your digital certificate. For verification or replacement assistance, please contact our support team.

What must appear on a Statement of Attainment?

An SoA includes: RTO name/code, learner name, unit code(s)/title(s), issue date, authorised signatory, and (when applicable) the NRT logo, in line with AQF and the Standards for RTOs.

What is the NRT logo and when can it be used?

The Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) logo indicates nationally recognised training. Only RTOs may use it on AQF certification for accredited training, under ASQA conditions of use.

Do I need a USI to receive my credential?

Yes. A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required for an RTO to issue your Statement of Attainment, except for limited USI exemption cases. Create or find your USI at usi.gov.au.

How do I check an RTO or a unit on training.gov.au?

Visit training.gov.au to look up RTO details, scope of registration, and unit codes/titles (e.g., HLTAID011).

How long are certificate records kept by an RTO?

RTOs must retain issuance records for 30 years to support future verification or re‑issue, per the Standards for RTOs.

Are digital certificates accepted?

Yes. Digital certificates issued by an RTO are valid and widely accepted. You may also print a copy for your records.
